This is a testimony to the fact that a flower shot can be just as beautiful in B& W as it is in color. lovely job, Mary Lou. I also took delight reading what you wrote in your bio. You wax quite poetic, my dear lady. That's a breath of fresh air. Your statement about being one with the rest of creation reminded me of a beautiful poem by Rabindranath Tagore, a poet and Nobel laureate from India. It points to the idea that there's only one life force ( the ultimate ground of being or Atman, as they call it in Hindu tradition) but it manifests itself in infinite forms. In that consciousness we're all connected to each other and to the rest of creation. Tagore wrote, "THE SAME STREAM OF LIFE THAT RUNS THROUGH MY VEINS NIGHT AND DAY RUNS THROUGH THE WORLD AND DANCES IN RHYTHMIC MEASURES. IT IS THE SAME LIFE THAT SHOOTS IN JOY THROUGH THE DUST OF THE EARTH, IN NUMBERLESS BLADES OF GRASS AND BREAKS INTO TUMULTUOUS WAVES OF LEAVES AND FLOWERS. IT IS THE SAME LIFE THAT IS ROCKED IN THE OCEAN-CRADLE OF BIRTH AND OF DEATH, IN EBB AND IN FLOW. I FEEL MY LIMBS ARE MADE GLORIOUS BY THE TOUCH OF THIS WORLD OF LIFE AND MY PRIDE IS FROM THE LIFE-THROB OF AGES DANCING IN MY BLOOD THIS MOMENT. This poem is in a book titled "Gitanjali." It's a compilation of 103 of Tagore's poems. If you have a passion for reading as much as I do, you would be well-advised to check it out.
Mary Lou Chmura replied:
Wow, Bijan, Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and such kind words. I love the poem that you shared, thank you so very much. I love reading as well and this one really touches me deeply. I will definitely look this book, Gitanjali." up.
